Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) at Mill Road Elementary
MTSS is our school-wide approach to helping every student succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially. Think of it as a three-tier support system that ensures all children receive the right level of help at the right time.
How it works:
Tier 1: High-quality classroom instruction and support for all students
Tier 2: Additional targeted support for students who need extra help in specific areas
Tier 3: Intensive, individualized or small group support for students with significant needs
Our dedicated teacher teams meet regularly to review student progress and determine the best ways to support each child's learning. Our K-2 and 3-5 teams each meet every other week. During these meetings, teachers analyze student data, share strategies, and plan interventions to help meet the individual needs of students.
What this means for your child: If your child needs extra support, we'll provide it quickly rather than waiting for them to fall further behind. Our goal is to ensure every student at Mill Road Elementary has the support they need to reach their full potential. This collaborative approach means teachers, specialists, and administrators work together as a team to support every child's success.
