Mill Road Elementary

A Welcoming and Diverse Community of Learners

A Message from Dr. Boyd and Ms. Strothmann

Welcome to Mill Road Elementary School

Dear Mill Road Families,Children with backpacks enter a school building, greeted by adults.

At Mill Road Elementary School, we are dedicated to nurturing every student's unique potential through our Raider Profile values. These core principles guide everything we do as we strive to meet the needs and challenge all of our students PK-5.

Our faculty and staff believe that every child is unique and that all can be successful. We are committed to facilitating the development of each child's maximum potential academically, physically, socially and emotionally. Through our emphasis on hands-on activities, designing and problem-solving, we create exciting learning experiences that spark curiosity and foster critical thinking skills.

We believe it is our responsibility to provide opportunities that help students make self-directed and responsible decisions while learning to engage meaningfully with their education. Our commitment to helping students embrace diversity ensures that all learners feel valued and supported in our inclusive community. We encourage our Raiders to think critically about the world around them, care for others through acts of kindness and service, empathize with different perspectives, and collaborate effectively with peers and adults.

Success is only possible through the cooperation and hard work of students, parents and staff working together. Our goal is to provide students with the background, strong work habits and problem-solving skills they will need to be successful here at Mill Road, at the secondary level and throughout life.

Parental support is a key ingredient to a child's success in school. You can offer your support by volunteering and being an active member of our PTA. We look forward to our work with you and your child this school year, creating opportunities for students to engage in meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that challenge them to think creatively and work collaboratively.

School personnel will communicate through ParentSquare, conferences, newsletters and phone calls, but the school/home partnership is strengthened with two-way communication. We encourage you to contact us with your questions or concerns, as well. Thank you for your support and please stay involved with your child's education.

Together, we will create and maintain a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment where our Raiders can thrive. We want our students to find school an enjoyable, meaningful and rich experience filled with opportunities to design solutions, solve problems and make real-world connections.

We look forward to working with you on behalf of the children at Mill Road Elementary School.

Very truly yours,

Brian Boyd Kristen Strothmann
