Mill Road Elementary School’s kindergarteners celebrated a successful year and an important step in their educational journey June 23 with a pair of music-filled ceremonies.

More than 90 soon-to-be first-grade students took the stage clad in bright red caps and gowns in the PK-2 cafeteria, surrounded by friends and family. Walking, one-by-one to the stage, the students performed “One Small Voice” by singing – and signing – the words. Then, music teacher Allison Budd led them through another song, “One Little Bud.”

Finally, each kindergartener was called to the front of the stage to receive a diploma, signifying their accomplishment.

Afterward, the junior graduates returned to their classrooms for refreshments with family and photo opportunities.
